Sister Angelica
About the Author
Sr. Angelica is a servant of God whose life and ministry have been marked by divine calling, supernatural encounters, and an unwavering commitment to the advancement of God’s Kingdom.
Prompted by an ardent zeal to serve the Lord by becoming a nun, she joined the Catholic Religious Institute of “The Congregation of the Sisters of St. Anne, Tiruchirapalli” at a young age. Passed out with a Master’sdegree in Economics in 1978 from the University College of Trivandrum, Kerala she joined as a lecturer inJ.A.College atPeriyakulam, Madurai, Tamil Nadu. As she was absorbed into the administration of the Congregation, had to give up teaching for an interim period. While being in the administrative team, had to visit many countries like Iran, USA, Europe and Africa as a part of the Congregation’s mission in order to expand it.
After faithfully serving for thirteen years in the administration of the Religious Congregation of St. Anne, she received a divine calling . The Lord started training her in a different dimension. She was transferred to Athicode, Kerala—a convent that became a divine training ground. Restricted in her movements and responsibilities, she began ministering quietly, growing in a close walk with Christ, engaging in deep prayer.
It was during one of these prayer times that the Lord spoke powerfully through Ezekiel 37:1-10, giving her a vision of a great spiritual army rising up. This encounter ignited in her a God-given mandate to raise an “Army” for the Lord—(intercessors, believers committed to prayer, engaged in spiritual warfare, and preparing for the Second Coming of Jesus Christ.
In the meantime the Lord God prepared Sr. Angelica, with these two sisters, (Srs. Leema Rose, theformer Mother General of the Congregation and Roger, the Assistant Mother General of the same Congregation) to stepout of the convent in 1997 to follow the Lord’s plans for them for a special mission through divine encounters. Their ministry began with home visits, prayer meetings, fasting, and night vigils. In November 1998, after a time of fasting and prayer, the Lord revealed the name, structure, pledge, and guiding principles for what would become The Army of Jesus—a movement of believers organized into small prayer groups called “troops” dedicated to evangelism, discipleship, and spiritual warfare.
From humble beginnings in Manaparai, Tamil Nadu, The Army of Jesus spread rapidly, throughout India with miraculous signs confirming their calling. Under the Sisters’ leadership, countless troops were formed across regions, drawing believers closer to the Lord and inspiring many to live in readiness for His return. They are called the soldiers of the Army of Jesus, trained to be rooted in the Word of God, equipped with the Gifts of the Holy Spirit, anointed and sent to be workplace evangelists.
In the year she was given a clear Vision about the future of India called “Eshcol National Harvest Festival”. The Holy Spirit shared with her His burden for the present day Church. This Vision is named as “Model Church”. Accordingly House Churches called Troop Churches are formed in obedience to the Lord . He commands us to go back to the original source of the Christian Church pattern of the early Church.
Today, Sr. Angelica continues to serve with the same zeal and vision she received from the Lord—to see a global army of believers standing firm in faith, advancing the Gospel, and preparing the world for the glorious coming of Christ.
